Why We Signed the ‘Climate Change & Ocean Acidification’ Petition

We signed the ‘Climate Change & Ocean Acidification’ Petition created by Conservation Hawks because we love to fish, and selfishly, want to protect what we love.  The fact of the matter is that the debate on climate change is over.  And even though humans are causing climate change, at least according to 97% of climate scientists, we still here from folks that they aren’t sure if they believe that humans are the cause.  Check out this film trailer from Conservation Hawks titled “Chrome”:

Humans cause climate change through the burning of fossil fuels.  Fossil fuels emits greenhouse gasses which warm our planet, and a warming planet negatively impacts aquatic species. Below are some of the ways climate change is currently impacting fisheries:

Because fish live in the most beautiful places, and we love to pursue them; naturally, we want to protect the places that they live so we can attempt to catch them.  It’s that simple.  We know that humans are causing climate change, so what can we do to prevent the negative impacts of climate change?  One of the easiest actions you can take is to visit Conservation Hawks  or our Environmental Activism and sign the ‘Climate Change & Ocean Acidification’ petition.  Additionally, below is a list of actions you can take to reduce your impact on climate change:

These are just a few ways you can ensure that you are protecting the sport and fish that you love, but what if you are a business owner?  You can take similar steps to reduce your company’s impact on climate change by measuring your carbon footprint, and developing strategies to reduce your contribution to climate change that can mitigate risks, enhance your brand value and increase your profitability.

We would like to thank Conservation Hawks for making it so easy to take action and please sign the petition and share via social media.  Thank you!
