In 2002, Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, created 1% for the Planet and started a global movement. We have been proud members of 1% for the Planet since our inception in 2016, which means that we donate 1% of our annual sales to environmental nonprofits to: The Sustainability Institute, Charleston Waterkeeper, Protect Our Winters, Bonefish & Tarpon Trust and more.
International Society of Sustainability Professionals Member
We are a member of The International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP) which is the world’s leading network of sustainability professionals. ISSP exists to empower sustainability professionals across the workforce and around the world.
America Is All In
America Is All In is the most expansive coalition of leaders ever assembled in support of climate action in the United States. Mobilizing thousands of U.S. cities, states, tribal nations, businesses, schools, and faith, health, and cultural institutions, the coalition is working alongside the federal government to develop a national climate strategy that meets the urgency of the climate crisis, scaling climate action around the country to empower workers, and communities, and promoting the leadership of non-federal actors on the world stage.
The Conservation Alliance Member
The Conservation Alliance is a coalition of over 270 like-minded member companies who pool resources to fund and advocate for the protection of North America’s cherished wild places and outdoor spaces. Through the collective power of their membership - companies from a range of industries from outdoor industry to brewers, bankers, sportsmen, and renewable energy - take bold steps to conserve wild public lands and waters. Since 1989, we’ve awarded over $31.9 million in grants and helped protect over 82 million acres and 4,570 river miles, remove or halt 38 dams, purchase 22 climbing areas and designate five marine reserves.
Fly Fishing Climate Alliance Member
We are the founding member of the Fly Fishing Climate Alliance, which is made up of fly fishing guides, shops, lodges, brands and nonprofits who are committed to net-zero emissions by 2050.
Lowcountry Local First
Lowcountry Local First advances economic prosperity and local ownership through innovative and inclusive initiatives that build our community’s wealth and wellbeing. LLF works to - Educate the general public on why it’s important to choose local and influence them to do so. - Deliver resources, programming, networking, mentorship and more to local businesses of all shapes and sizes. - Work with elected officials, decision-makers and opinion leaders to foster a better environment for creating and sustaining local businesses.

Climate Neutral Certified + Consulting
We are a Climate Neutral Certified company, which means we have measured our Scope 1, 2 & 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, created a Climate Action Plan to reduce emissions, and purchased carbon offsets for all of our emissions to achieve Climate Neutral Certification from the Change Climate Project.
Emerger Strategies also a member of the Change Climate Projects Service Provider Network, which means we help your company achieve Climate Neutral Certification. We can assist you with preparing your measurement, reduction plans, and compensation strategy.
Sustainability Excellence Associate
Emerger Strategies President, Rick Crawford, has earned the Sustainability Excellence Associate (SEA) from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). By obtaining this credential, Rick has demonstrated competency in the field of sustainability and has been recognized for having the skills necessary to foster innovation and to promote and lead sustainability initiatives.
