Rep Your Water Releases 2019 Sustainability Report & Announces Carbon Neutral Goal

Posted on July 6, 2020

Rick Crawford

I am very proud of my clients, Rep Your Water, for their hard work to improve the social and environmental performance of their operations and products. Rep Your Water truly cares about protecting our fisheries because they love to fish. Below is a press release and hope you appreciate the dedication Rep Your Water has made in trying to become the best versions of themselves as a company:

Rep Your Water has released their 3nd annual Sustainability Report and continue to improve their social and environmental performance.  Highlights include diverting over 97% of their waste from the landfill and purchased; purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) for their purchased electricity (Scope 2 GHG emissions) from a wind farm meaning they have eliminated GHG emissions associated with their electricity use; and introduced ethically-sourced (SA-800) and bio-cotton flannels as part of their new Ethical Assortment collection. As always, Rep Your Water continues to donate a 3% of their sales to their 17 nonprofit conservation partners as well as volunteering hours to their Colorado Trout Unlimited Chapter. However, in this year’s Sustainability Report, Rep Your Water also announced that they will be working towards a goal of being Carbon Neutral across their Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions.

RepYourWater co-founders, Corinne and Garrison Doctor had this to say about addressing climate change is so important for their company and they stated: “As we look beyond 2020, we are making the commitment to be Carbon Neutral across our Scope 1, 2 & 3 GHG emissions by 2030 while also continuously improving the social and environmental performance of our supply chain and products with ethically-made goods and more recycled content & organic content in our products. We know that we are not perfect and that we can never cease in our efforts to earn your trust, but we are proud of the progress we have made so far. We also know there is much room for improvement and hope you will continue to follow us on our sustainability journey!”

RepYourWater started working with sustainability consulting firm, Emerger Strategies, in 2016 because they wanted to further authenticate their brand by improving the social and environmental performance of their operations and products.  Emerger Strategies President, Rick Crawford, had this to say about RepYourWater, “Corinne and Garrison are a rare breed in the fly fishing industry and truly get that climate change is a major risk and threat to the fish that not only their business is dependent upon, but they honestly believe in doing the right thing and protecting what they love.”

RepYourWater is thrilled to share their 2019 Sustainability Report with you.  Stay tuned for more exciting news from RepYourWater in 2020.
