The Sustainable Angler Podcast: Orvis VP Steve Hemkens

Posted on October 31, 2019

Rick Crawford

In this episode of The Sustainable Angler Podcast, I interview Orvis VP of Fly Fishing, Wingshooting and Orvis Adventures Steve Hemkens. We discuss climate change, getting politically active with Protect Our Winters, how Orvis is implementing sustainable business practices to fight climate change, and even discuss carbon neutrality. We also dive into some of the amazing Conservation Hawks films that help educate hunters and anglers on how climate change is impacting our fish and wildlife.

Also, if you are looking for a great read on sustainable business, Steve and I also mentioned Getting Green Done by Auden Schendler, which is one of the first books I read on sustainable business that inspired me to get on my sustainability career path.

You can find The Sustainable Angler podcast on Google Play Music, iTunes, Soundcloud, Spotify and Stitcher and we’d be grateful if you gave us a follow, like or share so that we can fulfill our mission of educating and creating more awareness about environmental threats to our fisheries, while sharing success stories that inspire positive change.
