Rick Crawford has earned Sustainability Leadership Initiative (SLI) Fellowship certification through Sustain SC and the Shi Institute for Sustainable Communities at Furman University. By earning this certification, Rick has demonstrated the leadership qualities necessary “to navigate South Carolina through unprecedented changes in human and natural communities, while supporting economic prosperity and resilience.” Only twenty-four participants are selected annually from a large pool of applicants across South Carolina to attend the five sessions and graduation to become an SLI Fellow.
The exclusive Sustainability Leadership Initiative represents a robust interdisciplinary stakeholder network of South Carolina leaders with the knowledge, skills, and desire to collaborate and support each other in identifying pathways and executing solutions for a sustainable future.
Rick said that “As a sustainability professional, I am always looking to discover ways other companies are making the business case for sustainability, what the latest sustainable business trends are, and keeping up with best practices, and SLI provides a pathway to network with other change makers who are working to make South Carolina a better place to live and work. I would recommend SLI to anyone who wants to take a deeper dive into sustainable business and wants to stay inspired!”
