In the News: Featured in Garden & Gun

Posted on April 12, 2022

I am honored to be named one of Garden and Gun’s “15 for 15: Southern Futures” in the April/May 2022 magazine. From G&G: “Southern Futures: Since this magazine’s debut in 2007, the South has changed in ways pleasurable and profound, from the biscuit and bourbon booms to reckonings centuries in the making. That progress continues, led by visionary Southern creatives, destinations, and ideas, all forging the future of the region for the next fifteen years and beyond.”

Due to the fact that we must halve global greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve Net-Zero emissions by 2050 to avoid catastrophic effects of climate change, I can think of no better way to spend my time other than ensuring that my family, and our Lowcountry lifestyle, is protected from sea-level rise, which is a direct effect of climate change. I am also thrilled that Garden & Gun mentioned The Sustainable Angler podcast and the Fly Fishing Climate Alliance. I am extremely proud to represent my hometown of Savannah, GA and my current home of Charleston, SC and hope to help as many businesses as possible to emit fewer greenhouse gas emissions to protect what I love, and grateful for the opportunity.

Special thanks to my family, T. Edward Nickens for the kind words, Garden & Gun for the opportunity, Joel Caldwell for the photos, Hilary Hutcheson for the mention, Paul Puckett for the push, and all of our client’s without whom none of this would be possible.
